The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u2018integrated certification\u2019<\/span> will involve authorization by the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI)<\/span> and<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. The idea of the new certificates is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">to facilitate the imports. <\/span>A <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">health certificate<\/span> is an official document issued by the exporting country, proving that the requirements established by the importing country are being met.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0This will make it easier for India to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">receive regular imports of biological genetic material,<\/span> fish, pork meat and their products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Biological genetic material is used for breeding and improving animal productivity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. It has been reported that <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Brazil will provide India bull semen genetic material<\/span> to improve the productivity of Indian cattle. India through the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Dairy Development Board<\/span> received its first batch of 40,000 doses of bull semen from Brazil.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Status of animal husbandry and dairy in India<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">1. India is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">home to the world&#8217;s largest livestock population<\/span>. It is the top producer of buffalo meat and the largest global milk producer, with almost all its milk consumed domestically.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. In 2022-23, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">milk production was stagnant<\/span>, partly due to an outbreak of lumpy skin disease.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. About half of its milk output <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">comes from indigenous and non-descript buffaloes<\/span>, with another 20% from similar types of cows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4.
