The researchers of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) have succeeded in captive breeding of golden trevally fish. Golden Trevally (Gnathanodon speciosus) which is a high value marine fish.<\/p>\n

1. Characteristics-<\/strong> Golden trevally is also known as golden kingfish. <\/span>It has yellowish belly, scattered black patches, yellow fins,<\/span> and black tail.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Location-<\/strong> These fishes are found in the reef areas<\/span>. The golden trevally is primarily found in reef area fishing grounds in Tamil Nadu,<\/span> Puducherry,<\/span> Kerala,<\/span> Karnataka, and<\/span> Gujarat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3. High Commercial Value-<\/strong> It is a promising marine aquaculture species<\/span> due to its rapid growth rates<\/span>, high meat quality<\/span>, and high market demand for consumption<\/span> and ornamental purposes<\/span>. It is a popular choice for aquariums due to its attractive appearance.<\/p>\n
