This initiative aligns with the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Education Policy, 2020<\/span>, and the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Curriculum Framework, 2022<\/span>, which advocate for teaching and learning in local languages.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">About the Initiative:<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 453px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/epaper.thehindu.com\/ccidist-ws\/th\/th_delhi\/issues\/82353\/OPS\/Public\/G71CP66QP.1%2BGJKCP71G2.1.jpg?resize=453%2C267&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Focus on mother tongue from the early stages: CBSE\" width=\"453\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: The Hindu<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">a) CBSE has urged schools <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">to utilize educational materials<\/span> emphasizing learning in students&#8217; mother tongues or regional languages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">b) The initiative is<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> supported by the collaboration<\/span> between the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Council for Educational Research and Training<\/span> (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NCERT<\/span>) and the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Indian Institute of Languages<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">c) They have <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">developed 52 entry-level primers tailored<\/span> to various mother tongues and local languages spoken across India. These primers are available in languages such as Bhutia, Bodo, Garo, Khandeshi, Kinnauri, Kuki, Manipuri, Nepali, Sherpa, and Tulu. These serve as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">basal readers for local languages<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">introduce numerals<\/span> to children attending balvatikas and anganwadis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">d) Schools are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">encouraged to promote the use of these primers<\/span> among teachers and students to foster strong language skills in their native languages.
