It is a protected area located in the Indian state of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Assam.<\/span><br \/>\n2. It is situated in the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">foothills of the Eastern Himalayas.<\/span><br \/>\n3. It is known as the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;Jewel of Assam&#8221;.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 90px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 90px;\"><strong>Neighbouring protected areas<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 90px;\">It is bordered by the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Pachnoi River<\/span> to the west,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Jia Gabharu<\/span> to the east, the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Doimara Reserve Forest<\/span> in Arunachal Pradesh to the north, and the revenue village and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Charduar Reserve Forest<\/span> of Sonitpur to the south.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 30px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\"><strong>Status<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\">It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1998.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 60px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 60px;\"><strong>River flowing through<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 60px;\">There are four perennial rivers that flow through the sanctuary: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Dolsiri, Gabharu, Gelgeli, and Belsiri.<\/span> During the rainy season, several wetlands known as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cbheels\u201d<\/span> can also been seen.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 30px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\"><strong>Flora<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\">1. The forests type in the sanctuary comprises <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">tropical evergreen, semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests.<\/span><br \/>\n2. Hollang, Mekai, Dhuno, Udiyam, Nahar, Samkothal, Bheer, Hollock, Nahor are found in the sanctuary.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 30px;\">\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\"><strong>Fauna<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"height: 30px;\">1. The sanctuary is primarily known for its<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Elephant and Indian bison populations.<\/span> It hosts a variety of other animals including <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">deer, the one-horned rhinoceros, leopards, tigers, and some rare species of cats.<\/span><br \/>\n2.
