About:\u00a0<\/strong>The PS4 engine is a vital component of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), utilized by the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)<\/span> for satellite launches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Purpose and Functionality:<\/strong> It serves as the uppermost stage of the PSLV. It comprises of two <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Earth-storable liquid engines.<\/span> These engines are crucial for propelling the rocket&#8217;s upper stage during its mission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Propellant Combination<\/strong>: It employs a bipropellant combination, utilizing <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">nitrogen tetroxide as the oxidizer <span style=\"color: #333333;\">and<\/span> monomethyl hydrazine<\/span> as the fuel. This combination <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ensures efficient <span style=\"color: #333333;\">and<\/span> reliable performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Thrust and Operation:<\/strong> Each PS4 engine is capable of producing a thrust of 7.3 kiloNewtons (kN) in vacuum conditions.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> It facilitates<\/span> propulsion and manoeuvring of the upper stage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Transition to 3D Printing:<\/strong> Traditionally manufactured using machining and welding methods, the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> PS4 engine has now shifted to 3D printing.<\/span> This transition allows for<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> intricate designs and optimal material utilization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Utilization in Reaction Control System (RCS):<\/strong>\u00a0 It also serves in the Reaction Control System (RCS) of the initial stage (PS1) of the PSLV rocket.
