About<\/strong><\/td>\n1) The Arab League, also known as the League of Arab States (LAS),<\/span> is a regional organization comprising Arab states in the Middle East and parts of Africa.<\/span>
\n2) It was established in Cairo<\/span> on March 22, 1945, in response to concerns about postwar colonial divisions<\/span> and strong opposition to the establishment of a Jewish state on Palestinian territory.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\na) develop both national and international strategies

Objective<\/strong><\/td>\nIts main objective includes:
\na) Strengthen and coordinate the political, cultural, economic, and social programs of member states.
\nb) Resolve disputes among member states or between them and third parties.
\nc) Provide military support to defend member states, an agreement reached in 1950.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Membership<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It has total 22 members.\u00a0<\/span>
\n2) Founding members:<\/strong> Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen
\n3) Other members include Libya, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait, Algeria, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Mauritania, Somalia, the Palestine Liberation Organization, Djibouti, and Comoros.
\n4) Observer Status:<\/strong> It is conferred to Brazil, Eritrea, India,<\/span> and Venezuela.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Council<\/strong><\/td>\na) Structure:<\/strong> The highest body of the League is the Council, consisting of representatives from member states, usually foreign ministers, their representatives, or permanent delegates.
\nb) Decision-Making:<\/strong> Decisions are made on a majority basis.
\nc) Voting and Compliance:<\/strong> Each member has one vote. Decisions are binding only on those states that voted for them, with no enforcement mechanism for compliance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

About Manama Declaration<\/h2>\n

1. <\/strong>The Manama Declaration emerged from the 33rd Arab League Summit held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

2) The 22-member Arab League issued the “Manama Declaration” calling for:<\/p>\n

a) The deployment of United Nations peacekeeping forces<\/span> in the occupied Palestinian territories.<\/p>\n

b) The protection to continue until a two-state solution is implemented.<\/span><\/p>\n

c) The declaration urged all Palestinian factions to<\/span> unite under the umbrella of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).<\/span><\/p>\n
