1. Mount Ibu is a stratovolcano<\/span> situated on the northwest coast of Halmahera island, Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. It is among Indonesia’s most active volcanoes<\/span>, consistently recording frequent eruptions over the years.<\/p>\n

3. It rises to an elevation of 1,377 meters above sea level<\/span>. The volcano spans 16 km from east to west and 13 km from north to south.<\/p>\n

4. In 2023, Mount Ibu recorded a total of 21,100 eruptions, making it the second most active volcano in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

About stratovolcano<\/h2>\n

1. Stratovolcanoes are\u00a0tall, steep, and cone-shaped. They <\/span>differ from the flatter shield volcanoes by having higher peaks.<\/p>\n

2. They are primarily located above\u00a0subduction zones<\/span>\u00a0and are a major part of\u00a0extensive volcanically active areas\u00a0like the\u00a0Pacific Ring of Fire.<\/p>\n
