Why in News?<\/h2>\n

Recently, the Fourth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Implementation, Convention on Biological Diversity launched the GSAP SKILLS Platform.<\/p>\n

About GSAP SKILLS Platform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Aspects<\/strong><\/td>\nDescription<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
About<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Global Species Action Plan (GSAP) SKILLS platform brings the content of GSAP online, allowing for real-time updates of technical tools and resources.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Purpose<\/strong><\/td>\nIt aims to facilitate global collaboration and partnerships.<\/span> It connects decision makers, species conservation practitioners, and experts at all levels.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It provides real-time updates on technical tools<\/span> and resources to ensure they remain accessible and relevant.
\n2) Each Global Biodiversity Framework<\/span> target includes:
\na) A brief summary and rationale for species conservation interventions, actions, and sub-actions.
\nb) Information on actors and technical tools and resources for those actions.
\nc) Facilitates the scaling-up of implementation efforts.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Managed by<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It is managed proactively by IUCN<\/span> to meet the needs of governments and stakeholders in taking actions for species conservation.
\n2) It is also supported by the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea<\/span>, and the Tech4Nature Initiative launched by IUCN and Huawei in 2020.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

About Global Species Action Plan (GSAP)<\/h2>\n

1. The Global Species Action Plan (GSAP) is an initiative designed to support the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF<\/a>)<\/span> and combat the growing loss of biodiversity worldwide.<\/p>\n

2. It outlines the necessary actions to effectively conserve and sustainably use wild species. <\/span><\/p>\n

3. The GSAP includes measures such as integrating species data into spatial planning<\/span> and establishing wildlife corridors<\/span> to facilitate animal migration.<\/p>\n

4. Goals:<\/strong> Its goal is to outlines strategic interventions and actions<\/span> to conserve and sustainably manage species and ensure equitable benefits.<\/p>\n
