About:<\/strong> Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will construct canopy bridges in Assam\u2019s gibbon habitat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Purpose:<\/strong> To facilitate the movement of Hoolock gibbons across a railway track that divides their prime habitat in <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/reroute-rail-track-through-gibbon-sanctuary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Designed by:<\/strong> Canopy bridges are designed by the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Wildlife Institute of India (WII) in collaboration with NFR.<\/span> The project involves <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NFR, Assam State Forest Department, WII,<\/span> and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>4. These bridges will be<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> installed at strategic points<\/span> to ensure the safe movement of gibbons between the divided sections of the sanctuary.<\/p>\n<p>5.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> High-grade fastening materials and techniques<\/span> will be used to secure the bridges.\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Safety nets<\/span> will be installed below the bridges as a fail-safe mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>6. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lianas and creepers<\/span> will be <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">guided along the bridges<\/span> to make them look natural.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Previous Efforts:<\/strong> Past efforts included an artificial canopy bridge by NFR and a natural canopy bridge by the Assam State Forest Department and Aaranyak.
