Distribution<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It inhabits diverse environments such as tropical and subtropical forests, woodlands, and savannas.<\/span>
\n2) This bird is widely distributed across India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and various regions in Southeast Asia.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Characteristic features<\/strong><\/td>\n1) They are large, measuring between 50 and 65 cm in length and weighing between 1500 to 1700 grams.
\n2)\u00a0 It boasts a wingspan of up to 1.7 meters.<\/span>
\n3)\u00a0 Its distinctive appearance is characterized by a rich chocolate brown color on the upper body<\/span>, dotted with white spots.
\n4) Its name derives from the light cream color of its underbelly and breast,<\/span> which are prominently marked with bold black spots.
\n5) This species is primarily active at night.<\/span>
\n6) As an apex predator<\/span>, it preys on rodents, small mammals, reptiles, and insects.
\n7) It is solitary and territorial,<\/span> maintaining a specific home range.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
