Musankwa sanyatiensis is a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">newly identified dinosaur species<\/span> found from fossils along the shores of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. This is the first dinosaur <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">named from the Mid-Zambezi Basin in northern Zimbabwe<\/span> in over 50 years and only the fourth dinosaur ever named from Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;Musankwa&#8221;<\/span> is named after the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> houseboat scientists used during their expeditions.<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;Sanyatiensis&#8221;<\/span> refers to the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Sanyati River that flows into Lake Kariba.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. Musankwa sanyatiensis was a<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> plant-eater and mainly lived in swampy areas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>5. Previous Discoveries: The other three dinosaurs named from Zimbabwe are<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> &#8220;Syntarsus&#8221; rhodesiensis (1969), Vulcanodon karibaensis (1972), and Mbiresaurus raathi (2022). <span style=\"color: #333333;\">The rocks where Musankwa sanyatiensis was found date back to the Late Triassic period, about 210 million years ago.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6. Fossil Details: \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">i) The dinosaur is known from a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">single hind leg, including the thigh, shin, and ankle bones. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">ii) Musankwa sanyatiensis <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">weighed around 390 kg,<\/span> making it one of the larger dinosaurs of its time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7.
