\n Released By<\/strong><\/td>\n The Report is released annually<\/span> by the five custodian agencies<\/span>. The agencies are as follows-
\n1. The International Energy Agency (IEA)
\n2. The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)
\n3. The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD)
\n4. The World Bank
\n5. The World Health Organization (WHO)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n\n Focus of the Report<\/strong><\/td>\n This report summarizes global progress on energy access<\/span>, energy efficiency<\/span>, renewable energy<\/span>, clean cooking<\/span>, and international cooperation<\/span> to advance SDG 7.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n \n Highlights of the Report<\/strong><\/td>\n 1.Insufficient Progress- <\/strong>While the share of renewables in global electricity consumption has increased to 28.2%, this is still insufficient to reach the targets set forth<\/span> in the SDGs.
\n2. Offtrack in achieving universal access to clean cooking-<\/strong> The world remains off track to achieve universal access to clean cooking<\/span> by 2030. 2.1 billion people still live without access to clean cooking fuels and technologies, largely in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.
\n3. Increase in the number of people living without electricity- <\/strong>The number of people living without electricity grew for the first time in over a decade<\/span>.
\n4. Premature Deaths-<\/strong> Household air pollution created by using polluting fuels and technologies for cooking results in 3.2 million premature deaths<\/span> each year.
\n5. Increase in per-capita installed energy-generating capacity-<\/strong> The installed renewable energy-generating capacity per capita has reached a new record in 2022 at 424 watts per capita globally<\/span>.
\nHowever considerable disparities exist between the developed and the developing countries. Developed countries (at 1,073 watts per capita) have 3.7 times more capacity<\/span> installed than developing countries (at 293 watts per capita).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
