Adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, it formally took effect on 26 January 1950.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the Constitution contained 395 Articles across 22 Parts and 8 Schedules. Over time, it underwent significant expansion, adding four Parts, four Schedules, and additional Articles (with one Part later repealed).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following table gives the Parts of the had 22 Parts. Now, the Indian Constitution consists of 25 Parts.<\/p>\n<p>Part IV-A was added by the 42nd Amendment (1976) to the Constitution. This Part deals with the Fundamental Duties.<\/p>\n<p>Part XIV-A was also added by the 42nd Amendment. This Part contains articles on Tribunals.<\/p>\n<p>Part IX-A was added by the 74th Amendment Act (1992).
