{"id":304859,"date":"2024-07-18T20:16:51","date_gmt":"2024-07-18T14:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=304859"},"modified":"2024-07-18T20:16:51","modified_gmt":"2024-07-18T14:46:51","slug":"present-status-of-employment-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/present-status-of-employment-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Present status of employment in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Source: <\/strong>This post <strong>Present status of employment in India <\/strong>has been created based on the article <strong>in search of jobs <\/strong>published in <strong>The Hindu<\/strong> on 18<sup>th<\/sup> July 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPSC Syllabus Topic:<\/strong> GS Paper 3 \u2013 Indian Economy &#8211; Employment<\/p>\n<p><strong>Context: <\/strong>Employment generation will remain a major challenge before the present government.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Present status of employment in India<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>International Labour Organisation (ILO) report,<\/strong> has provided with the following facts<\/p>\n<p>1) Non-agricultural economy employed 11 crore workers during October 2022 to September 2023 in comparison to about 9.8 crore workers during 2021-22.<\/p>\n<p>2) Share of manufacturing employment was stagnant, at around 12%-14%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Citigroup report <\/strong>too said the current rate of job creation will not be sufficient to meet future demand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Periodic Labour Force Surveys<\/strong> show that 45.76% of the workforce was engaged in agriculture and allied sectors in 2022-23.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What steps can be taken to handle the employment challenge in India?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Technological Innovations<\/strong>: Innovations should aim to reduce workloads without hindering livelihoods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Agricultural Industrialization<\/strong>: The government should consider more public and cooperative investments to create jobs and ease the burden on farmers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collaborative Approach<\/strong>: The government should involve private and public sectors, labor unions, States, and political parties to design a growth model focused on job creation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: This post Present status of employment in India has been created based on the article in search of jobs published in The Hindu on 18th July 2024.
