They are flagship species in their rivers and adjacent seas.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 21.8876%;\"><strong>Distribution<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 78.1124%;\">These fishes are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">found in the northern hemisphere<\/span> and in large river systems, lakes, coastal waters and inner seas throughout <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Azerbaijan<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Bulgaria<\/span>, other <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">European countries<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">North America<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 21.8876%;\"><strong>Feeding Pattern<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 78.1124%;\">They Mostly <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">feed on benthic organisms<\/span> found on the bottom of water bodies, like molluscs, invertebrates and small fishes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 21.8876%;\"><strong>Threats<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 78.1124%;\">Sturgeons are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">heavily exploited globally for their roe\/eggs<\/span> (caviar) and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">meat<\/span>.
