It is a Initiative by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 60px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 17.1687%; height: 60px;\"><strong>Implemented by<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 82.8313%; height: 60px;\">The programme will be implemented by the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Horticulture Board<\/span> in collaboration with the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Indian Council of Agricultural Research<\/span> (ICAR).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 90px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 17.1687%; height: 90px;\"><strong>Core Components of the CPP<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 82.8313%; height: 90px;\"><strong>1. Clean Plant Centers (CPCs):<\/strong> \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Nine world-class CPCs<\/span> will be set up across India.<br \/>\ni) These centers will have advanced labs for diagnostics, therapy, and tissue culture.<br \/>\nii) The CPCs will be located in regions suited for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">specific fruit crops<\/span>, such as Grapes (Pune), Temperate Fruits like Apple, Almond, and Walnut (Srinagar &amp; Mukteshwar), Citrus Fruits (Nagpur &amp; Bikaner), Mango, Guava, Avocado (Bangalore), Mango, Guava, Litchi (Lucknow), Pomegranate (Sholapur) and Tropical\/Sub-Tropical Fruits in Eastern India<br \/>\n<strong>2. Certification and Legal Framework:<\/strong> A strong certification system will be put in place to ensure that planting materials are produced and sold with full accountability. This system will be supported by regulations under the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Seeds Act of 1966<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>3. Enhanced Infrastructure:<\/strong> Large nurseries will receive support to develop the necessary infrastructure for multiplying clean planting materials efficiently.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 17.1687%;\"><strong>Importance of the CPP<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 82.8313%;\"><strong>1. Sustainability: <\/strong>The programme aligns with initiatives like <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Mission LiFE<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">One Health<\/span>, promoting eco-friendly farming practices.<strong><br \/>\n2. Self-Reliance: <\/strong>It reduces the need for importing planting materials, making India more self-sufficient.<strong><br \/>\n3.
