Environmental Sustainability:<\/strong> The program aims to reduce carbon emissions and promote the use of cleaner, sustainable fuels in maritime operations.<br \/>\n<strong>2. Decarbonizing Ports:<\/strong> GTTP is a crucial step in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">decarbonizing<\/span> the operations of Indian ports by phasing out conventional fuel-based tugs.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 180px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 20.3431%; height: 180px;\"><strong> Implementation Phases<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 79.6569%; height: 180px;\">1. The first phase of the program will run from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027.<br \/>\n2. <strong>Four Major Ports:<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Deendayal Port Authority<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Paradip Port Authority<\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority<\/span> will each procure or charter at least two green tugs during this phase.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 90px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 20.3431%; height: 90px;\"><strong>Technology Used<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 79.6569%; height: 90px;\">The initial green tugs will be battery-electric, with the potential to incorporate hybrid, methanol, and green hydrogen technologies.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 150px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 20.3431%; height: 150px;\"><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 79.6569%; height: 150px;\"><strong>1. Boost to Domestic Industry:<\/strong> All green tugs under this program will be constructed in Indian shipyards, promoting the \u2018<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Make in India<\/span>\u2019 initiative.<br \/>\n<strong>2. Job Creation:<\/strong> The program is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in shipbuilding and ship design.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 120px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 20.3431%; height: 120px;\"><strong>Long-Term Vision<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 79.6569%; height: 120px;\">1. By 2040, all tugs operating in Indian Major Ports are expected to be green tugs.<br \/>\n2. From 2033 onwards, any new tug built in India for use in Indian ports must meet the standards for green technologies.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"height: 210px;\">\n<td style=\"width: 20.3431%; height: 210px;\"><strong>Alignment with Broader Maritime Goals<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 79.6569%; height: 210px;\"><strong>1. Maritime India Vision 2030:<\/strong> The GTTP aligns with the Maritime India Vision 2030, which includes goals such as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">sourcing 60% of power demand from renewable energy at major ports<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">reducing carbon emissions by 30% per ton of cargo by 2030<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>2.
