Recently, ICGS Sujay made a port call in Jakarta, Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Aspects\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\nDescription<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
About<\/td>\n1. It is an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV)<\/span> of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
\n2. It is stationed at Paradip, Odisha<\/span>.
\n3. It operates under the command of the Commander of Coast Guard Region (North-East)<\/span> and is frequently deployed for various missions.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Features<\/td>\n1. It is equipped with a 30mm CRN 91 gun<\/span> and features advanced navigational and communication systems, sensors, and machinery.<\/span>
\n2. It is a 105-meter vessel, crewed by 12 officers and 94 men<\/span>. Two women ICG officers also participated in bilateral cooperative engagements, representing \u201cWomen in Maritime Security and Safety.\u201d<\/span>
\n3. The ship is designed for extended deployment in various maritime zones,<\/span> carrying out diverse missions such as surveillance, search and rescue, and law enforcement.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Professional Interactions & Engagements<\/td>\n1. The crew of ICGS Sujay took part in professional exchanges focused on Marine Pollution Response (MPR), Maritime Search and Rescue (M-SAR), and Maritime Law Enforcement.<\/span>
\n2. The 10 National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets on board ICGS Sujay will join local youth organizations in an Environmental Protection Walkathon<\/span> focused on combating marine plastic pollution.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Significance of the Deployment<\/td>\n1. MoU with BAKAMLA:<\/strong> The deployment follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Indian Coast Guard and BAKAMLA on July 06, 2020,<\/span> to enhance maritime cooperation.
\n2. Reinforcing Bilateral Relationships:<\/strong> The deployment strengthens ties with key maritime agencies,<\/span> emphasizing safety, security, and environmental sustainability in the region.
\n3. Addressing Maritime Challenges:<\/strong> It aims to tackle contemporary maritime challenges<\/span> through collaborative efforts.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
