The dates have not been yet confirmed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Meeting to improve Trade imbalances:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan or his deputy is expected to visit for talks with Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu aimed at improving trade imbalances.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The informal ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) organised by the Commerce Ministry has been scheduled on March 19 and 20.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b><i>What is the significance of the meeting?<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The WTO ministerial meeting is being seen as a significant platform of countries worried by the U.S.\u2019s tough position on tariffs and President Donald Trump\u2019s threats of a \u201ctrade war\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><b>\u00a0India-China strategic economic dialogue:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be held between officials of the NITI Aayog and China\u2019s top planning body, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Five working groups will hold detailed discussions on infrastructure, energy, hi-technology, investments and resource conservation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><b>Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) meeting<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: India will be participating in the meet in Beijing which is scheduled from April 8<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to 11<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit:<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prime Minister Modi is expected to meet President Xi in June at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Qingdao.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is also a possibility of an informal summit before that<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0<\/span><b>High-profile import exhibition in Shanghai<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: In November, India has agreed in principle to participate in the high-profile import exhibition in Shanghai, despite reservations about China\u2019s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India, China step up engagement Context: India and China are seeking to step up the pace in improving ties What are the upcoming engagements?
