The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced the implementation of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-based Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system in India.<\/p>\n

1.The current Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) in India uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology known as FASTag, mandatory since February 2021.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 FASTag has been widely adopted, with over 98% of user fees paid through this method by March 2024.<\/p>\n
