{"id":31122,"date":"2018-10-27T12:14:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-27T06:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=31122"},"modified":"2018-10-27T12:14:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-27T06:44:05","slug":"cabinet-committee-clears-several-rail-road-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/cabinet-committee-clears-several-rail-road-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Cabinet committee clears several rail, road projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/cabinet-committee-clears-several-rail-road-projects\/article22809129.ece\"><b>Cabinet committee clears several rail, road projects<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Context:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government recently approved several railway projects, including a 130 km-long Jeypore-Malkangiri project at a cost of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2,676 crore and another 425 km-long Jhansi-Manikpur and Bhimsen-Khairar line doubling-cum-electrification projects costing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 4,956 crore.<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Introduction:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jeypore-Malkangiri new line project, likely to be completed by 2021-22, will cover the left wing extremism (LWE) affected districts of Koraput and Malkangiri of Odisha.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jhansi-Manikpur and Bhimsen-Khairar projects are likely to be completed by 2022-23.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The projects will cover the districts of Jhansi, Mahoba, Banda, Chitrakut Dham in Uttar Pradesh and Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) also approved 116.95 km-long Bhatni-Aurnihar line doubling-cum-electrification at a cost of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,300.9 crore.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Likely to be completed by 2021-22, it will cover the districts of Deoria, Ballia, Mau and Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The CCEA also gave its approval to the construction of 4.5 km-long two-lane bi-directional Silkyara Bend-Barkot Tunnel as part of \u2018Chardham Mahamarg Pariyojana\u2019.
