{"id":31271,"date":"2018-10-27T12:54:22","date_gmt":"2018-10-27T07:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=31271"},"modified":"2018-10-27T12:54:22","modified_gmt":"2018-10-27T07:24:22","slug":"the-many-conflicts-in-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/the-many-conflicts-in-syria\/","title":{"rendered":"The many conflicts in Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/opinion\/op-ed\/the-many-conflicts-in-syria\/article22754671.ece\"><b>The many conflicts in Syria<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Introduction:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Syrian crisis is escalating with the regime beginning a new phase of the war in Idlib province.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Syrian crisis escalating further:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new phase of the war is controlled by <\/span><b>rebels and al-Qaeda-linked jihadists; Turkey sending troops across the border to fight the Kurdish rebels; and the U.S. seemingly determined to stay in Syria for a longer term.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like the first phase of the civil war, <\/span><b>this phase is also multidirectional.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Multidirectional phase:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The regime, <\/span><b>backed by Iran and Russia, is fighting against the rebels and jihadists in Idlib, Eastern Ghouta, and some southern enclaves.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Turkish proxies,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> backed by the air force, are <\/span><b>attacking Kurdish militias in Afrin, a border town.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The U<\/span><b>.S. continues to support the Kurdish militias<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in several other towns in the border region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Turkish and Israeli jets are <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">now carrying out airstrikes in Syria.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With more powers in the war, finding a solution is becoming more complicated.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The many conflicts in Syria Introduction: The Syrian crisis is escalating with the regime beginning a new phase of the war in Idlib province.
