{"id":31493,"date":"2018-10-27T14:22:59","date_gmt":"2018-10-27T08:52:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=31493"},"modified":"2018-10-27T14:22:59","modified_gmt":"2018-10-27T08:52:59","slug":"vehicular-pollution-to-hit-generations-sc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/vehicular-pollution-to-hit-generations-sc\/","title":{"rendered":"Vehicular pollution to hit generations: SC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/todays-paper\/tp-national\/vehicular-pollution-to-impact-generations-sc\/article22663419.ece\"><b>Vehicular pollution to hit generations: SC<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Context:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Supreme observed that vehicular pollution would have an impact not only on the present generation but also on the children yet to be born.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Government enquiry:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government directed the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) to <\/span><b>file an affidavit indicating the position as regards the availability of Bharat Stage (BS)-VI <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">emission standard compliant fuel in Delhi.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&amp;CC) has been asked <\/span><b>whether any study was conducted on environmental pollution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, its effect on the health of people and the cost to deal with it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>BS-VI:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BS-VI emission standard is scheduled to come into force from <\/span><b>April 1, 2020<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The BS-VI norms should be made applicable in the <\/span><b>Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR)<\/b> <b>from April 1, 2019.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Cars which were not BS-VI compliant should not be allowed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to be registered after the new norms came into effect.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vehicular pollution to hit generations: SC Context: The Supreme observed that vehicular pollution would have an impact not only on the present generation but also on the children yet to be born.
