It honors the best novel written in English and published in the United Kingdom or Ireland.<\/p>\n 3. Each year, the prize is given to what the judges consider the finest sustained work of fiction written in English and published in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n 4. The winner receives \u00a350,000, in addition to the \u00a32,500 granted to each of the six shortlisted authors.<\/p>\n 5.
