Why in news?<\/h2>\n

Recently, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports introduced the KYM app under the aegis of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) India.<\/span><\/p>\n

About \u2018Know Your Medicine\u2019 (KYM) App<\/h2>\n

1. Launched by:<\/strong> Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Aim:<\/strong> The app aims to empower athletes with vital knowledge to prevent inadvertent doping and promote fair competition.<\/p>\n

3. Purpose of the KYM App:<\/strong> It is designed to strengthen the fight against doping in sports. It provides athletes with an easy way to check if a medicine or its ingredients are prohibited under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations.<\/p>\n

4. Features of the KYM App:<\/strong><\/p>\n

i) Quick Verification:<\/strong> It helps athletes confirm whether substances are permissible under anti-doping rules.<\/p>\n

ii) Sport-Specific Search:<\/strong> It allows users to select their sport and access tailored information.<\/p>\n

iii) Advanced Search Options:<\/strong> It includes image and audio search functionalities for convenience.<\/p>\n

5. Promoting a Clean Sporting Culture:<\/strong> It is part of NADA India\u2019s larger mission to raise anti-doping awareness and education. It supports the vision of fostering fair, transparent, and ethical sportsmanship across all levels of competition.<\/p>\n
