Why in news?<\/h2>\n

Recently, During COP29 in Azerbaijan, the UAE launched an ambitious initiative to create the ‘Global Energy Efficiency Alliance.’<\/p>\n

1. The UAE announced the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance<\/strong> during COP29, hosted in Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n

2. Aim:<\/strong> It aims to double global energy efficiency rates by 2030<\/strong> and achieve substantial reductions in carbon emissions.<\/p>\n

3. The alliance builds upon the \u2018UAE Consensus\u2019 introduced at COP28 which united nations, organizations, and corporations in their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable resource management.<\/p>\n

4. Objectives of the Alliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

i) The alliance aims to enhance global energy efficiency by doubling efficiency rates by 2030 and addressing energy-related challenges worldwide.<\/p>\n

ii) It seeks to reduce carbon emissions significantly, aligning with international climate goals.<\/p>\n

5. The initiative is designed to promote the sustainable use of natural resources, ensuring a balance between consumption and conservation.<\/p>\n

Strategic Goals of the Alliance<\/span><\/p>\n

1. The alliance will promote strategic partnerships between public entities and private organizations to accelerate energy efficiency solutions.<\/p>\n

2. It aims to encourage investments by mobilizing funding for energy efficiency projects across various regions.<\/p>\n

3. It will work towards developing global standards for energy efficiency practices and sharing best practices to inspire collective action.<\/p>\n
