In the <strong><em>Northern Hemisphere<\/em><\/strong>, the <strong><em>air circulates anticlockwise<\/em><\/strong>, while in the <em><strong>Southern Hemisphere<\/strong><\/em>, it moves <strong><em>clockwise. <\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Cyclones are typically associated with intense storms and severe weather.<\/li>\n<li>There are two <strong>types of cyclones<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a. Tropical cyclones<\/strong>-These form over warm ocean waters in tropical and subtropical regions. They are characterized by low pressure, high winds, and heavy rain.<br \/>\n<strong>b. Extra Tropical cyclones<\/strong>&#8211; They are also known as wave cyclones, mid-latitude cyclones, or temperate cyclones. They develop in the mid and high latitudes, outside the tropics. They are less intense than tropical cyclones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2>Origin of the Name &#8216;Fengal&#8217;<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Proposed by<\/strong>&#8211; Saudi Arabia<\/li>\n<li>The name Fengal is rooted in Arabic, reflecting the region&#8217;s linguistic and cultural identity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cyclone Naming Process<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Cyclones in the <strong><em>North Indian Ocean<\/em><\/strong> are named by member countries of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/wmo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>World Meteorological Organization (WMO)<\/em><\/a> and the<em><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/united-nations-economic-and-social-commission-for-asia-and-the-pacific-unescap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP)<\/a><\/em> panel.<\/li>\n<li>This <strong><em>panel includes 13 nations<\/em><\/strong>: Bangladesh, India, Iran, Maldives, Pakistan among others.<\/li>\n<li>Each member <strong><em>contributes a list of potential names<\/em><\/strong>, which are used sequentially as cyclones form in the region.<\/li>\n<li>Cyclone names are <strong><em>used in order and not reused<\/em><\/strong>.
