Scientific name<\/strong>-Ficedula parva<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> It is a small (11-12 cm) <strong><em>passerine bird<\/em><\/strong> in the Old World flycatcher family.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> It can be found occasionally feeding on figs (banyan, peepal) in our urban gardens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Appearances: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Males have a <strong>reddish<\/strong>-orange throat<\/em><\/strong> that extends till the upper breast, whereas the <strong><em>females are overall brown<\/em><\/strong>. Both have creamy-white underparts.<\/li>\n<li>They can be distinguished from other orders by the arrangement of their toes \u2014 three pointing forward and one backward, a design that helps them to cling onto branches efficiently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>5. Migration<\/strong>&#8211; It generally <strong><em>migrates from Eastern Europe<\/em><\/strong> to avoid the harsh winters and thrive in South Asia&#8217;s moderate climate with abundant food.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Breeding:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The bird <strong><em>breeds from spring to summer<\/em><\/strong>, in the <strong><em>deciduous mixed forests of Eastern Europe<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>across Central Asia.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em> In winter months<\/em><\/strong> (September to March mostly), it migrates to forests, woodlands, orchards, parks, and roadside trees of the <strong><em>Indian Subcontinent<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>7. Conservation Status:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">IUCN<\/span><\/strong>: Least Concern<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>About Ameenpur Lake<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> It is a small lake in the Sangareddy district of Telangana, <strong><em>located on the outskirts of Hyderabad<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> It is the <strong><em>first body of water in India to be designated as a <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/appendix\/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CBiodiversity%20Heritage%20Sites%E2%80%9D%20(BHS,species%20or%20intra%2Dspecific%20categories%2C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Biodiversity Heritage Site<\/em><\/a>, as well as the first biodiversity site to be approved in an urban are.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> The lake is <strong><em>man-made<\/em><\/strong> and was reportedly built over 300 years ago during the reign of <strong><em>Ibrahim Qutb Shah<\/em><\/strong> (1550\u20131580 AD).<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.
