{"id":31952,"date":"2018-10-29T11:57:28","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T06:27:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=31952"},"modified":"2018-10-29T11:57:28","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T06:27:28","slug":"make-ii-promise-for-arms-firms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/make-ii-promise-for-arms-firms\/","title":{"rendered":"Make -II promise for arms firms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/make-ii-promise-for-arms-firms\/article22458134.ece?utm_source=RSS_Feed&amp;utm_medium=RSS&amp;utm_campaign=RSS_Syndication\"><strong>Make -II promise for arms firms<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Indian industry can suggest projects related to sub-systems for innovation and import substitution under the revised Make-II procedure in the\u00a0Defence Procurement Procedure, the Defence Ministry said on Wednesday<\/p>\n<p><strong>Indian industry can suggest projects related to sub-systems for innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The potential \u2018Make-II\u2019 projects will be approved by a collegiate comprising the DRDO, Headquarter Integrated Defence Staff and Department of Defence under a committee chaired by Secretary, Defence Production<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start-ups welcome<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Even start-ups or individuals can propose projects<\/li>\n<li>The Service Headquarters will soon come with a list of projects which can be undertaken under the new procedure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>No limit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Companies would get design and development time of 12 to 30 weeks to offer prototypes and there is no limit to the number of companies which can respond to the Expression of Interest (EoI).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raisina Dialogue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the ongoing Raisina Dialogue, Secretary, Defence Production said that under the new proposal, the time taken to place orders from the proposal stage would be reduced by 50%<\/p>\n<p>After the development period, the Request for Proposal would be issued to all qualifying companies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Non retractable<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once issued, the RFP cannot be retracted.
