P. Nadda for an open debate on the issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Call for discussion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Contending that the NMC bill is serious enough to distort the future of medical education in the country, the Association called for discussion on the bill before it is approved by parliament.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resident Doctors Association of AIIMS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This bill is anti-people, anti-poor and puts medical education into the hands of the rich and powerful<\/li>\n<li><strong>Issues<\/strong>: Nomination of majority of members of NMC by bureaucrats and politicians, full control of corporate sector to decide fees of more than 60 per cent of seats, National Licentiate Exam (NLE), no provision of grievances redressal for students, fate of NBE, bridge course, registration, among others &#8212; the issues are serious enough to destroy the future of medical education in this country.\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Events<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ever since the NMC bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha in late December, there have been protests in the medical fraternity, including the\u00a0Indian Medical Association\u00a0(IMA).<\/li>\n<li>IMA had also called for a 12-hour shut down of private hospitals across the country to protest the NMC Bill.<\/li>\n<li>Following the protest, the bill was referred to a\u00a0Parliamentary committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AIIMS doctors challenge Nadda to open debate Context Continuing its opposition to the\u00a0 National Medical Commisssion (NMC) Bill,the\u00a0Resident Doctors Association of AIIMS\u00a0on Monday invited\u00a0Union Health Minister\u00a0J.
