{"id":32078,"date":"2018-10-29T12:31:33","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T07:01:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=32078"},"modified":"2018-10-29T12:31:33","modified_gmt":"2018-10-29T07:01:33","slug":"budhism-is-basis-of-an-early-form-of-globalization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/budhism-is-basis-of-an-early-form-of-globalization\/","title":{"rendered":"Budhism is basis of an early form of globalization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/news\/national\/other-states\/buddhism-is-basis-of-an-early-form-of-globalisation-kovind\/article22423160.ece\"><strong>Budhism is basis of an early form of globalization<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inaugurating the fourth International Dharma-Dhamma conference on state and social order at Rajgir in Nalanda district of Bihar on Thursday, President Ram NathKovind said Buddhism was the basis for an early form of globalisation, and of interconnectedness in our continent<\/p>\n<p><strong>President\u2019s views<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Timing is important: <\/strong>The President pointed out that \u201cthe timing of this conference is very appropriate\u201d as \u201cwe are marking the 25th anniversary of the ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>A testimony to shared values: <\/strong>This conference stands testimony to the abiding friendship and shared values of India and ASEAN \u2013 as well as to the spiritual heritage and knowledge that belongs to both the sub-continent and to Southeast Asia<\/li>\n<li><strong>Influence of Buddhism<\/strong>: It is estimated that more than half the world\u2019s current population lives in regions that have been historically influenced \u2013 and in many cases continue to be influenced \u2013 by the enlightenment that Lord Buddha attained and placed as a model before humanity. This is the thread that stitches us all together. This is the vision that must inspire us in the 21st century as well. And this is truly what has been described as the Light of Asia<\/li>\n<li>He said <strong>India\u2019s Act East Policy<\/strong> has to be seen in this context. \u201cIt is much more than a diplomatic initiative. It is not targeted at just greater trade and investment.
