{"id":321615,"date":"2024-12-30T14:54:26","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T09:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=321615"},"modified":"2024-12-30T14:54:26","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T09:24:26","slug":"coringa-wildlife-sanctuary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/coringa-wildlife-sanctuary\/","title":{"rendered":"Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong> The Wildlife Institute of India-Dehradun is preparing to execute India\u2019s first Fishing Cat Collaring Project at Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary.<\/p>\n<h2>About Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>&#8211; It is part of the <em>Godavari estuary<\/em>, where the Coringa River merges with the Bay of Bengal in <em>Andhra Pradesh&#8217;s Kakinada district<\/em>.\n<ul>\n<li>Between this area and the sea &#8221; <em>Hope Island<\/em> &#8221; blocks the direct confluence of the sea and Godavari.<\/li>\n<li>As a result, about 40% of the sanctuary is only sea-backwaters and the rest of the area is intermingled with creeks and gets inundated with tidal waters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vegetation<\/strong>&#8211; It has extensive <em>mangrove and dry deciduous tropical forest<\/em>.
