1.0<\/strong><\/em>, which was launched for the period 2019-2024 as a part of the <strong><em>National Digital Communications Policy, 2018.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Under NBM 1.0 nearly 8 lakh telecom towers were established.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Objectives<\/strong> of NBM 2.0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ensure that at least 60 out of every 100 rural households have access to broadband connectivity.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Create a <em><strong>robust digital infrastructure<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0by achieving a minimum fixed broadband download speed of 100 Mbps.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Envisages India as a global knowledge society by providing <em><strong>High-speed Broadband and Meaningful Connectivity for all<\/strong><\/em> in line with the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Key Benefits of NBM 2.0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Provide <em><strong>operational optical fiber cable (OFC) connectivity<\/strong><\/em> to 2.70 lakh villages by 2030.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Extend broadband connectivity to <em><strong>90% of anchor institutions<\/strong><\/em> like Schools, PHCs, Anganwadi Centre, and Panchayat offices by 2030.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Achieve the target of powering 30% of mobile towers with sustainable energy by 2030.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Improve the <strong><em>Fixed broadband download Speeds<\/em><\/strong> to a minimum 100 Mbps by 2030.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Facilitate <strong><em>rollout of the 5G<\/em><\/strong> network and lay the groundwork for future <em><strong>6G technology.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Leverage <em><strong>p<\/strong><strong>ower sector assets<\/strong><\/em> such as Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) to enhance broadband connectivity during the times of emergencies and in remote regions of the country.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Enhance the usage of the <em><strong>\u2018Call Before u Dig\u2019 (CBuD) mobile app<\/strong><\/em>
