These agreements were formally launched at <\/span><b>Aero India 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, marking the establishment of <\/span><b>Defence Partnership\u2013India (DP-I)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to expand collaboration in the defence sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About India-UK Defence Agreements\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Laser Beam Riding MANPADs (LBRM) and Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM)<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Thales (UK) and Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signed an agreement to deliver <\/span><b>Laser Beam Riding MANPADs (LBRM)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including an initial supply of <\/span><b>High Velocity Missiles (STARStreak)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and launchers in 2025.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The collaboration will extend to the production of <\/span><b>Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This partnership will integrate <\/span><b>BDL and Indian defence industries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into Thales\u2019 global supply chain, boosting <\/span><b>job creation, security cooperation, and interoperability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between the two armed forces.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Advanced Short-Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) Facility<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Matra BAe Dynamics UK (MBDA UK) and BDL<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are setting up India&#8217;s <\/span><b>first ASRAAM assembly and test facility in Hyderabad<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This facility will arm India\u2019s <\/span><b>fighter jets<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with cutting-edge <\/span><b>air-to-air missile systems<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> while also contributing to exports.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Maritime Electric Propulsion System for the Indian Navy<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India and the UK signed a <\/span><b>Statement of Intent<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to design and develop an <\/span><b>Integrated Full Electric Propulsion (IFEP)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> system for India\u2019s next-generation <\/span><b>Landing Platform Dock (LPD) fleet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This <\/span><b>landmark agreement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will enhance <\/span><b>self-reliance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the power and propulsion capabilities of India\u2019s naval fleet.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In news: The strategic partnership between India and the United Kingdom has taken a significant step forward with new agreements aimed at enhancing next-generation weapon systems.
