One District One Product (ODOP)<\/strong> programme was launched\u00a0 in 2018<\/strong> to promote unique local crafts, industries and products<\/strong> from each of UP\u2019s 75 districts<\/strong>. It consists of four sub-schemes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  1. Skill Development and Toolkit Distribution scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Marketing Development Assistance scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Common Facility Centre scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Financial Assistance (Margin Money) Scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Skill Development Scheme<\/strong> is a critical sub-scheme of the ODOP programme and has the following objectives:<\/p>\n

    1. It aims to fulfill the current and future requirements of skilled work force<\/strong> in the entire value chain of ODOP<\/strong> products.<\/li>\n
    2. The Schemes entails equipping the artisans \/ workers through distribution of\u00a0 advanced tool kits<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Achieving qualitative improvement in products<\/strong> and promoting entrepreneurship<\/strong> is a key objective of the scheme. This will help increase demand<\/strong> for the products and enable remunerative price realization <\/strong>for the artisans.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The Scheme is available to all the residents of UP<\/strong> who are above 18 years of age<\/strong>. No educational qualification is mandatory<\/strong> for availing benefits under the Scheme.<\/p>\n

      Following incentives <\/strong>are available under the scheme:<\/p>\n

        \n
      1. It grants Recognition of Prior Learning <\/strong>(RPL) to already skilled artisans through certification by the relevant Sector Skill Councils<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. Certification under RPL <\/strong>is also available for unskilled trainees <\/strong>after 10 days of training.<\/li>\n
      3. All the trainees are provided an honorarium<\/strong> of Rs.200\/day during training<\/strong>,<\/li>\n
      4. Once the training is complete, an advanced toolkit<\/strong> is given to all trained artisans, free of cost<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
