Conclude by bringing out the significance of the Plan. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vision Plan 2030<\/strong> of the UP Government is a step in the direction of <strong>localization of SDG 15<\/strong> (<strong>Life on Land<\/strong>).Its <strong>key features <\/strong>are the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>a) Dissemination of <strong>sustainable agricultural practices<\/strong> (bio fertilizers); b) promotion of <strong>water use efficiency <\/strong>(soil water management); c) <strong>reclamation of degraded lands<\/strong> (UP Sodic Land Reclamation Project).<\/li>\n<li>a) Adoption of <strong>world-class forest management practices<\/strong> (vertical canopy afforestation, nursery management); b) <strong>large scale plantation<\/strong> for increasing the green cover (up to 15% of state\u2019s geographical area).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Management of wetland resources<\/strong> with a focus on both qualitative and quantitative aspects (Zero Liquid Discharge policy, adoption of National Wetlands Strategy).<\/li>\n<li>a) Emphasis on <strong>capacity building of communities <\/strong>dependent on land resources by <strong>strengthening local institutions<\/strong> (SHGs); b) introducing<strong> participatory management practices<\/strong> (JFM committees).<\/li>\n<li>a) Inculcation of <strong>conservation ethics <\/strong>in people\u2019s minds (visits by children to wildlife parks); b) <strong>sustainable harvesting<\/strong> of goods and services from biological resources (in-situ biodiversity banks,forest certification).<\/li>\n<li>a) Support for<strong> strong institutions<\/strong> (RGSA*); b) rich<strong> research and academic environment<\/strong> (gene engineering); c)<strong> public-private partnership<\/strong> (CSR for social forestry programmes).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Vision 2030 demonstrates UP\u2019s commitment to <strong>protecting, restoring and promoting sustainable use<\/strong> of terrestrial ecosystems for <strong>sustainable growth <\/strong>and<strong> inclusive development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>*RGSA: Rashtriya Gramin Sashaktikaran Abhiyan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the Vision Plan 2030 of Uttar Pradesh Government with reference to the terrestrial ecosystem in the State?
