History<\/strong><\/td>\n1.<\/strong> Ranthambore National Park started as Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Indian Government.

\n3.<\/strong> Ranthambore was designated as a national park in 1980.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
River<\/strong><\/td>\nThe park is bounded to the north by the Banas River<\/span> and to the south by the Chambal River<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Connected wildlife sanctuary<\/strong><\/td>\nKailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary<\/span> and Sawai Mansingh Wildlife Sanctuary<\/span> are connected to the core of Ranthambore NP by narrow corridors, forming part of the Tiger Reserve.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Vegetation<\/strong><\/td>\nMixed Deciduous type<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Flora<\/strong><\/td>\n1.<\/strong> The most prevalent plant species<\/span> in Ranthambore National Park is the “Dhok<\/span>,” scientifically known as Anogeissus pendula.
\n2.<\/strong> Other plant species include Banyan (Ficus bengalensis), Pipal (Ficus religiosa) and Neem (Azadirachta indiaca), Babul (Accasia nilotica), Gum (Sterculia urens) etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Fauna<\/strong><\/td>\n1.<\/strong> Tigers<\/span>, leopards, striped hyenas<\/span>, common or hanuman langurs, rhesus macaques<\/span>, jackals, jungle cats, caracals, blackbuck, etc.
