These tariffs combine existing commodity-wise duties with a new country-specific tariff structure. Though currently capped at 10% for most countries for 90 days, the tariffs are aimed at reducing U.S. trade imbalances and have significant implications for India.<\/p>\n

For example, shifting $25 billion of oil imports from other countries to the U.S. would reduce India\u2019s reciprocal tariff from 26% to 11.8%, just above the 10% floor.<\/li>\n
      2. Engage in Dialogue: <\/strong>India should begin trade consultations with the U.S. to work out a long-term agreement that reflects mutual interests.<\/li>\n
      3. Monitor Dumping Risks: <\/strong>India should be vigilant about possible dumping by countries like China that are more adversely affected by U.S. tariffs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
