{"id":334967,"date":"2025-04-30T17:36:54","date_gmt":"2025-04-30T12:06:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=334967"},"modified":"2025-05-01T17:44:39","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T12:14:39","slug":"rafale-marine-fighter-jet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/rafale-marine-fighter-jet\/","title":{"rendered":"Rafale-Marine Fighter Jet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong> India and France has inked an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) for the procurement of <strong>26<\/strong> <strong>Rafale-M<\/strong> aircraft \u2013 22 single-seater and four twin-seater \u2013 for the Indian Navy.<\/p>\n<h2>About Rafale-Marine Fighter Jet<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>single-seat, carrier-borne, 4+ generation<\/strong>\u00a0aircraft capable of performing a wide range of missions, including deep strikes, air defence, and reconnaissance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manufactured by:<\/strong> France&#8217;s Dassault Aviation<\/li>\n<li>It is also described as an &#8220;<strong>omnirole aircraft<\/strong>&#8220;, meaning that it can conduct <strong>both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is designed to <strong>operate from aircraft carriers<\/strong> and will be deployed on aircraft carriers <strong>INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya, <\/strong>replacing the ageing MiG-29K fleet.\n<ul>\n<li>This is possible because of various <strong>modifications<\/strong>, including a reinforced <strong>undercarriage<\/strong>, strengthened <strong>landing gears<\/strong>, <strong>folding wings<\/strong> and a longer and strengthened nose.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weaponry: <\/strong>It will be loaded with the <strong>Meteor and MICA<\/strong> air-to-air missiles, <strong>SCALP<\/strong> cruise missiles, <strong>Exocet<\/strong> anti-ship missiles and <strong>ASTRA Mk1<\/strong> air-to-air <strong>Beyond Visual Range Missile<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>A great advantage that accrues with the induction of the 26 Rafale Ms for the Indian Navy is the <strong>commonality with the IAF Rafales<\/strong> which provides the desirable scope for <strong>interoperability and joint training.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_334968\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-334968\" style=\"width: 521px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-334968\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Rafael-M.png?resize=521%2C326&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"521\" height=\"326\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Rafael-M.png?resize=300%2C188&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Rafael-M.png?resize=768%2C482&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Rafael-M.png?w=996&amp;ssl=1 996w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 521px) 100vw, 521px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-334968\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; Times of India<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>About the deal<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian Navy will become the <strong>first international user of Rafale-M.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Composition: <\/strong>The deal for <strong>26 Rafale-M fighter<\/strong> jets includes <strong>four trainer aircraft (twin-seater)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The agreement includes <strong>Transfer of Technology<\/strong> for <strong>integration of indigenous weapons<\/strong> in India.<\/li>\n<li>It also includes <strong>setting up of a production facility<\/strong> for Rafale <strong>fuselage<\/strong> as well as <strong>Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul facilities <\/strong>for aircraft engine, sensors and weapons in India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Delivery time:<\/strong> It would begin between the <strong>next three to four years<\/strong> and is likely to be <strong>completed by 2030<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: India and France has inked an Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) for the procurement of 26 Rafale-M aircraft \u2013 22 single-seater and four twin-seater \u2013 for the Indian Navy.
