This process also <strong>releases hydrogen gas.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Radiolysis of water <\/strong>by radioactive rocks<\/li>\n<li>From <strong>organic matter at depth<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Current reserves:<\/strong> The total size of worldwide natural hydrogen reserves is still <strong>poorly known<\/strong> because of a <strong>lack of concentrated exploration. <\/strong>But still some of the Hydrogen reserves catalogued globally include-\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Australia<\/strong> (Eyre Peninsula and Kangaroo Island),<\/li>\n<li><strong>United States<\/strong> (Kansas, Nebraska)<\/li>\n<li><strong>France (Lorraine region)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Spain, Albania, Colombia, South Korea, and Canada<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mosselle region: A<\/strong> massive 46-million-ton natural hydrogen reserve discovered here. It is a river valley spanning <strong>north-eastern France, south-western Germany, and eastern Luxembourg<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>In India:<\/strong> The natural hydrogen potential is quite <strong>promising<\/strong> because of the existence of \u2013\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Favourable geological structures<\/strong> like <strong>hard rock formations<\/strong> of diverse <strong>ultramafic\/mafic and basaltic<\/strong> assemblages<\/li>\n<li><strong>Andaman and Himalayan ophiolite<\/strong> complexes<\/li>\n<li><strong>Greenstone volcanic-sedimentary<\/strong> sequences in cratons (Dharwar, Singhbhum)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sedimentary basis<\/strong> (for example, in Vindhyan, Cuddapah, Gondwana and Chhattisgarh)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basement rocks<\/strong> with fractures<\/li>\n<li>Areas with active <strong>hydrothermal systems <\/strong>e.g. hot springs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: A growing number of sizable companies, from mining giants to energy majors, are embracing the hype for natural hydrogen.
