{"id":336517,"date":"2025-05-13T17:40:49","date_gmt":"2025-05-13T12:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=336517"},"modified":"2025-05-15T21:15:04","modified_gmt":"2025-05-15T15:45:04","slug":"tadoba-andhari-tiger-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/tadoba-andhari-tiger-reserve\/","title":{"rendered":"Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News:<\/strong> Recently, a woman was killed in an incident of human-wildlife conflict that occurred in the buffer zone of the <strong>Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>About Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve<\/h2>\n<figure style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/th.bing.com\/th\/id\/R.b98a1e26a69a0ef15052dec6fe562a14?rik=cOo74o0OWa40AQ&amp;riu=http%3a%2f%2fwww.theearthsafari.com%2fupload%2f1352100277_Tadoba-Andhari-Tiger-Reserve_large13.png&amp;ehk=GoMRSuQaxcRpdDNtvOBBGOch53ToKxQbxaV%2fDAg%2bfyE%3d&amp;risl=&amp;pid=ImgRaw&amp;r=0\" alt=\" Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve\" width=\"560\" height=\"373\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">The earth safari<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>It lies in the <strong>Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.<\/strong> It is\u00a0<strong>Maharashtra&#8217;s oldest and largest National Park.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The total area of the tiger reserve is <strong>1,727 Sq.km<\/strong>, which includes the <strong>Tadoba National Park, created in the year 1955.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was formed in the year 1986<\/strong> and was <strong>amalgamated with the park in 1995 to establish the present Tadoba Andheri Tiger<\/strong> Reserve.<\/li>\n<li>It is<strong> one of India&#8217;s 47 project tiger reserves<\/strong> existing in India.<\/li>\n<li>The word <strong>&#8216;Tadoba&#8217; is derived from the name of God &#8220;Tadoba&#8221; or &#8220;Taru,&#8221;<\/strong> and<strong> &#8220;Andhari&#8221;<\/strong> is derived from the<strong> name of Andhari river that flows in this area.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"185\" data-end=\"363\">Tadoba National Park is divided into three main forest ranges: the <strong data-start=\"252\" data-end=\"274\">Tadoba North Range<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"301\">Kolsa South Range<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"311\" data-end=\"328\">Moharli Range<\/strong>, which lies between the other two.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"476\">The park is enriched by three primary water bodies: <strong data-start=\"418\" data-end=\"433\">Tadoba Lake<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"435\" data-end=\"449\">Kolsa Lake<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"475\">Tadoba River.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"610\"><strong>Flora:<\/strong> Prominent tree species found in the park include <strong>Teak, Ain, Bija, Dhauda, Haldu, Salai, Semal, and Tendu.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"610\">Medicinal and economically significant trees such as <strong data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"940\">Beheda, Hirda, Karaya Gum, Mahua (Madhuca), Arjun<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"956\">Bamboo<\/strong> are also commonly seen. Other species like <strong data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1012\">Bheria<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1031\">Black Plum<\/strong> further contribute to the ecological richness of the forest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"610\"><strong>Fauna:<\/strong> The reserve is home to several large mammals including the <strong data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1228\">Bengal Tiger<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1248\">Indian Leopard<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1254\" data-end=\"1268\">Sloth Bear<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"610\">Animals such as <strong data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1318\">Gaur (Indian Bison)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1330\">Nilgai<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1347\">Sambar Deer<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1349\" data-end=\"1374\">Spotted Deer (Chital)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1452\" data-end=\"1479\">Dhole (Indian Wild Dog)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1498\">Striped Hyena<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1522\">Small Indian Civet<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1542\">Jungle Cat<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1396\">Barking Deer also<\/strong>\u00a0inhabit the region.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"479\" data-end=\"610\"><strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1646\">Marsh Crocodile<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1648\" data-end=\"1665\">Indian Python<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1671\" data-end=\"1687\">Indian Cobra,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1765\" data-end=\"1791\">Grey-headed Fish Eagle<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1793\" data-end=\"1818\">Crested Serpent Eagle<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1824\" data-end=\"1835\">Peacock<\/strong> are commonly found.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Recently, a woman was killed in an incident of human-wildlife conflict that occurred in the buffer zone of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR).
