{"id":33845,"date":"2018-10-30T14:41:34","date_gmt":"2018-10-30T09:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=33845"},"modified":"2018-10-30T14:41:34","modified_gmt":"2018-10-30T09:11:34","slug":"rafale-questionsie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/rafale-questionsie\/","title":{"rendered":"Rafale questions(IE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/opinion\/columns\/rafale-questions-4948541\/\"><strong>Rafale questions<\/strong><\/a><strong><u>(IE)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Context<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Government\u2019s reluctance to share data on the price of the aircraft has raised several scenarios, none of them flattering to it<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background of Rafale deal<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IAF raised a requirement<\/strong>: In August 2007, after the Indian Air Force (IAF) raised the requirement for a Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA), a request for proposal (RFP) for procuring 126 Medium Role Combat Aircraft for the airforce was issued<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost<\/strong>: Projected to cost $12 billion (Rs 42,000 crore)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transfer of technology<\/strong>:18 of these aircraft were to come in a flyaway condition while there was to be a technology transfer (ToT) for 108 aircraft to be made in India by HAL, Bengaluru.
