(They are <strong>not the result of littering by citizens<\/strong>.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Challenges<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Cleaning up pellets is <strong>tougher than regular beach clean-up<\/strong> due to their small size.<\/li>\n<li>Their <strong>short- and long-term impacts<\/strong> include <strong>habitat contamination<\/strong> and their breaking up into micro and nano plastics and <strong>entering the food chain.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>They <strong>resemble fish eggs<\/strong>, making them attractive to marine animals.
