These aerosols scatter incoming solar radiation in the stratosphere, causing less solar energy to be absorbed by the troposphere.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"854\"><strong data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"685\">Process: <\/strong>SAI is implemented by spraying large quantities of tiny reflective particles into the stratosphere, thereby cooling the planet by reflecting sunlight back into space.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"1187\"><strong data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"867\">Method: <\/strong>Reflective particles such as<strong> sulfur dioxide, salt, or calcium carbonate would be dispersed from aircraft, rockets, artillery<\/strong>, or pumped through high-altitude balloons or hoses.
