Other animals like Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Indian Gaur (Bison), Sloth Bear, Dhole (Wild Dog), Nilgai, Chital, Sambar, Black Buck, Barking Deer are also found.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Recognition:<\/strong> It attained the status of a <strong>national park in 1981<\/strong> and a <strong>tiger reserve in 1983<\/strong> under the famous <strong>Project Tiger of India<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>one among the two project tiger<\/strong> sites in Chhattisgarh along with <strong>Udanti-sitanadi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tribes:<\/strong> It is home to indigenous tribal communities such as the <strong>Gond and Muria tribes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Security forces have recovered the bodies of five Maoist cadres during the ongoing anti-Naxal operations in the Indravati National Park area of Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh.
