E.g. States ranging from <strong>951\u20131,000 points<\/strong> are termed <strong>level 1 or \u2018daksh<\/strong>\u2018 or <strong>401\u2013460 points<\/strong> is termed level <strong>10 or \u2018akanshi-3<\/strong>\u2032, which is the <strong>lowest.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_340860\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-340860\" style=\"width: 462px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-340860\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education2-300x194.png?resize=462%2C299&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"462\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education2.png?resize=300%2C194&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education2.png?w=591&amp;ssl=1 591w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-340860\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; Ministry of Education<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Standings<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_340863\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-340863\" style=\"width: 476px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-340863\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education3-300x221.png?resize=476%2C351&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"476\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education3.png?resize=300%2C221&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education3.png?resize=1024%2C755&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education3.png?resize=768%2C566&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Source-Ministry-of-Education3.png?w=1086&amp;ssl=1 1086w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 476px) 100vw, 476px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-340863\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source &#8211; Ministry of Education<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>No state\/UT<\/strong> has scored in the <strong>higher ranges of 761 and above<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top performers<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Chandigarh<\/strong> achieved a score of <strong>703<\/strong>, and is the <strong>sole State to reach Grade Prachesta-1,<\/strong> for scores between <strong>701 to 760.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ten States and Union Territories<\/strong> \u2014 Punjab, Delhi, Gujarat, Odisha, Kerala, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu, Haryana, Goa, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan \u2014 have scored between <strong>581 and 640<\/strong>, called Grade <strong>Prachesta-3.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bottom rankings<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meghalaya (417.9)<\/strong> scored the <strong>lowest<\/strong>, falling into the category of scorers between <strong>401 and 460<\/strong>, labelled as <strong>Akanshi-3.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Telangana, Assam, Jharkhand, Tripura, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh, who have been put in the <strong>Akanshi-2 category<\/strong>, as they have scored between <strong>461 and 520<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Middle rankings:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Puducherry, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Lakshadweep, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu &amp; Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Ladakh \u2014 which scored between <strong>521 and 580, labelled Akanshi-1.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best improvers across domains<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Bihar and Telangana<\/strong> have made the highest improvement in the domain of \u2013 \u201c<strong>providing access to school education\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Delhi, J&amp;K, Telangana<\/strong> have made highest progress in the &#8220;<strong>infrastructure<\/strong>&#8221; domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Scoring methodology<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The score of each indicator is calculated by <strong>multiplying the proportionate score of the indicator with its weightage. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>For example<\/strong>, for the indicator of proficiency in Mathematics in Grade 5, the weightage is 20.
