One lakh Crore.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> To <strong>boost research, development, and innovation<\/strong> in India, especially in <strong>strategic and emerging (sunrise) sectors<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Overseeing Authority:<\/strong> Prime Minister-led ANRF Governing Board, Executive Council of ANRF and empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal Department<\/strong> <strong>: Department of Science and Technology (DST) <\/strong>to run and coordinate the scheme.<\/li>\n<li><strong>It has two-Tier Funding Structure:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Special Purpose Fund (SPF): <\/strong>This fund will be under Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and will hold the main corpus of money.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Second-Level Fund Managers: <\/strong>These are expert agencies that will give loans or equity to companies\/startups for R&amp;D projects. The support will be in the form of: Long-term loans at low or zero interest, Equity investment, especially for startups and contributions to other RDI-related fund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Main Goals of the RDI Scheme<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Support Private Sector Innovation: It is to e<\/strong>ncourage <strong>private companies<\/strong> to invest more in research and development and focus on new and important areas like clean energy, deep-tech, AI, space, defence, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fund High-Level Projects: <\/strong>It provide <strong>financial support<\/strong> for projects that are closer to real-world application (high Technology Readiness Levels).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Help Acquire Critical Technologies:<\/strong> It support companies in buying or developing technologies that are <strong>strategically important<\/strong> for India.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create Deep-Tech Fund of Funds: <\/strong>A special fund to invest in <strong>deep-tech startups and innovation-based ventures<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Recently, the Union Cabinet has approved the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme with a corpus of Rs.
