NCERT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Full name:<\/strong> Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) Rashtriya Sarvekshen (RS)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Earlier<\/strong> it was known as the <strong>National Achievement Survey (NAS)<\/strong> conducted since <strong>2001<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Conducted by:<\/strong> National Council of Educational Research and Training (<strong>NCERT<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> It aims to <strong>evaluate the progress of learners<\/strong> in the Foundational, Preparatory, and Middle stages of education, providing valuable insights into their development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sample system:<\/strong> Samples for assessing the <strong>foundational level<\/strong> will be drawn from <strong>grade 3<\/strong>, for the <strong>preparatory level<\/strong> from <strong>grade 6<\/strong>, and for the <strong>middle stage<\/strong> from <strong>grade 9<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus areas:<\/strong> The <strong>four<\/strong> major areas of focus for PARAKH are:\n<ul>\n<li>Capacity Development in Competency Based Assessment<\/li>\n<li>Large-Scale Achievement Survey<\/li>\n<li>Equivalence of School Boards<\/li>\n<li>Holistic Progress Cards for the Foundational, Preparational, Middle and Secondary Stages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Features of PARAKH, Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It operates at the <strong>district level<\/strong>, providing insights into student progress.<\/li>\n<li>The survey uses a <strong>paper-based<\/strong> approach with <strong>OMR technology<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Highlights of PARAKH RS, 2024 <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Coverage:<\/strong> It covered 21.15 lakh students from 74,229 schools across 781 districts in all 36 States and UTs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Region-wise findings<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Overall: Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman &amp; Diu and Chandigarh<\/strong> are the <strong>best performing States and Union Territories<\/strong> in school education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grade-wise findings<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Grade 3: <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala<\/strong> emerged as the <strong>top<\/strong> performing states in <strong>Grade 3<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sahebganj in Jharkhand<\/strong> and <strong>Reasi and Rajouri<\/strong> from Jammu and Kashmir were the <strong>low performing districts<\/strong> for this segment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grade 6: <\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kerala, Punjab and Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman &amp;
