This is because the Central Government has already made contact and is running several welfare measures for these tribes.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About Jarawa Tribe<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Jarawa<\/strong> are an <strong>indigenous nomadic tribe<\/strong> living on the <strong>Andaman Islands<\/strong> in India.<\/li>\n<li>They are believed to have migrated from Africa nearly <strong data-start=\"344\" data-end=\"371\">50,000\u201360,000 years ago.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Jarawas are among the <strong data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"441\">world\u2019s oldest surviving tribal groups<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"71\">Jarawa tribe<\/strong> is recognized as a <strong data-start=\"91\" data-end=\"138\">Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They reside primarily in regions of <strong data-start=\"176\" data-end=\"212\">Middle and South Andaman Islands<\/strong>, areas known for their <strong data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"309\">dense tropical forests, mangrove ecosystems, and unspoiled coastlines<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>They live in small groups of <strong>40\u201350 people. <\/strong>The <strong>Jarawa<\/strong> build their shelters, called <strong>chhappas<\/strong>, within the forest and typically shift their location every few months.<\/li>\n<li>They maintain a largely <strong>egalitarian society<\/strong>, with <strong>no formal leadership or hierarchical structure<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Jarawas possess a <strong>rich cultural and historical heritage<\/strong>, with well-developed <strong>beliefs, customs<\/strong>, and their own unique <strong>language, Jarawa<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They are also known for their <strong>skill in music and dance<\/strong>, which form an integral part of their cultural expression.<\/li>\n<li>They hunt <strong>wild pigs<\/strong>, <strong>turtles<\/strong>, and <strong>fish<\/strong> using <strong>bows and arrows and<\/strong>\u00a0collect <strong>fruits<\/strong>, <strong>roots<\/strong>, <strong>tubers<\/strong>, and <strong>wild honey<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>They make their bows from <strong>chooi wood<\/strong>, which they collect from <strong>Baratang Island<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>There are about <strong>400 Jarawa people<\/strong> today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News: Considering the 16th census, experts believe that conducting a census among the six main indigenous tribes in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will not be tough.
