{"id":342801,"date":"2025-07-15T15:43:22","date_gmt":"2025-07-15T10:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/?p=342801"},"modified":"2025-07-15T15:43:22","modified_gmt":"2025-07-15T10:13:22","slug":"arboviral-diseases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/arboviral-diseases\/","title":{"rendered":"Arboviral Diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>News<\/strong>&#8211; The WHO has released its first integrated guidelines for managing arboviral diseases<\/p>\n<h2>About Arboviral Diseases<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Arboviral diseases<\/strong> are infections caused by <strong>arthropod-borne viruses transmitted to humans through bites of infected insects, mainly mosquitoes and ticks.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is commonly transmitted by <strong>Aedes mosquitoes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Aedes aegypti mosquito<strong> can transmit several viruses<\/strong> within the same region, often at the same time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Example:<\/strong> Common examples include <strong>West Nile, Zika, Chikungunya, Dengue, and Eastern equine encephalitis.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transmission:<\/strong> Some viruses may also spread through <strong>blood transfusion, organ transplant, sexual contact, or mother-to-child transmission<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong> Fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, body aches, skin rash, bleeding (in dengue and yellow fever), headache, neck stiffness, excessive sleepiness, seizures, and unconsciousness\u2014often appearing within a few days to two weeks after a mosquito or tick bite.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prevention: <\/strong>Use insect repellents, wear protective clothing, and eliminate standing water to reduce mosquito breeding.
